Landline phone just rang, call from 0845 6021111 which is a BT service
that converts text messages to speach. As it wasn't clear what it was
about and the senders number was withheald I just hung up. It appears
that this is the latest ploy to get through to people for sales or other
purposes. If you get trouble and call 0800 5875 252 you get a message
about changing curfew times. Press 1 to change then option 5 on the next
menu turns them off completely.

Which is exactly why I am on the telephone preference service and, more
importantly, have a digital answer machine switched on 24/7 intercepting
every incoming call with a message that informs the caller, amongst other
things, that we do not accept calls from telesales companies, and inviting
legit callers to announce themselves after the tone ... leaving us the
choice as to whether to pick up or not. As Alexander the meerkat would say
"Simples".

Thanks ever so for this number.
Im getting endless calls for a non person; this should stop a good
percentage of them until I can work out how to stop the calls from overseas
trying to scare anyone into thinking they need to be aware of a virus doing
the rounds & talking them into downloading and paying for protection (which
you probably already have installed on your PC/laptop) whislt on the phone
to them in India.
Scammers & pests!
